Objective

SRC will modernize the High Frequency (HF) communications to ensure that a sovereign, terrestrial-based C2 capability exists to support domestic (including Arctic) and expeditionary communications for CAF elements. It is a complementary and alternative to SATCOM for the provision of global C2.

Requirements

The Programme will conduct major maintenance upgrades and technology refresh of the Ground Entry Stations (GES) of the existing CAF high and low frequency (HF & LF) radio networks including: the Naval Radio Stations (NRS), the Military Aeronautical Communications System (MACS), the NORAD HF communications Systems to Forward Operating Locations (FOLs), the Canadian Air Defence Sector (CADS) Strategic Air Operating Centres (SAOC) Beyond Line-of-Site (BLOS) sites and part of CFIOG's Signals Intelligence Operations system.
