Objective
The Arctic Over The Horizon Radar (A-OTHR) program will provide long-range surveillance of the northern approaches to the major population centers in North America.
Requirements
Establish a high-frequency (HF) Over The Horizon Radar (OTHR) system in southern Canada.
The Arctic Over The Horizon Radar (A-OTHR) Program will be implemented in a staged approach. Government of Canada has entered in a partnership with Commonwealth of Australia (COA) to modify the Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) system design to meet RCAF/NORAD requirements.
A-OTHR Program Stage 1 will deliver an initial capability that the operational community can interact with by Dec 2029.
