Objective
This project will replace the original hangar constructed in 1973 and extended in the mid 90s to accommodate additional aircraft. It will address health and safety issues which plague the facility leaving workers and aircraft at significant risk. Insufficient work and storage facilities places the unit operational mission in jeopardy. The project will deliver a modern operational hangar with a view to integrating command, control, communications, coordination, intelligence and aviation asset readiness enabling the force generation of high readiness special operations aviation elements in support of SOTFs for domestic and international operations. Project design will take into consideration the replacement of the Griffon helicopter under the nTACS Project.
Requirements
The ability to operate in secure environment. The ability to operate a consolidated infrastructure, sustainable and efficient infrastructure that meets DND Real Property objectives now and into the sustainable future. The ability to provide a modernized and effective facility necessary to 427 SOAS for comman, control, communicatins, coordination, intelligence and aviation asset readniess capabilities providing a secure operatin environment for forces generating elements to SOTFS.
